ROUTE BUS DELAYED: Route 1 afternoon run leaving Lambton College at 2:15 pm will be delayed due to a minor mechanical issue. We understand it should be fixed in the next 15-30 minutes!

The bus then will leave Lambton College closer to 2:45 pm and that delay will cascade throughout the schedule with the bus expected at Sobeys Plaza, Grand Bend @ 4:35 pm.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our riders are the reason we do what we do.
Our drivers get to meet some of the most interesting people on their runs. With frequent chats with our regular riders our drivers have formed some meaningful connections with some pretty amazing individuals as they move them around the community, you never know who you'll meet!
Meet Gary, he is a regular, daily customer in Tillsonburg. You can see him volunteering all over Tillsonburg. He helps with organizations such as churches volunteering to help with breakfasts, kettles at Christmas, selling tickets to raise money for all in need in our community, and more.
Gary is well known among the the drivers as a friendly and helpful person . He is chatty and gets along great with everyone, making them feel special and welcome. We thank him and his reply is, "That's what I'm here for. To help whatever".
Thanks for riding with us Gary - we're so glad to help you get where you need to be!

PASSENGER SAFETY IS A PRIORITY. We’ve received a few comments regarding yesterday’s delay of the Route 1 bus at the Lambton College bus stop on its trip to Grand Bend via Lambton Shores.

Some have expressed concern about the incident. Others expressed anger over being inconvenienced by the 30-minute delay.

When a driver needs to call the police due to a problem passenger, be assured this was the appropriate response to take for the safety of all passengers aboard the bus.

We apologize for the 30-minute delay. The release of the bus was at the discretion of the police, who needed time to do their job as well.

Of the 732 trips the Route 1 bus made between Sarnia and Grand Bend in 2022, it has been on time (timed to the minute!) 73% of the time. While that does leave us room for improvement, we must also maintain safe driving conditions despite traffic, construction and detours, and weather.

We also have security cameras installed and focused on the passenger department to assist with any ongoing investigations.

Don't listen to the naysayers! The driver did what he had to do to keep everyone safe! That's what counts!

Too bad for the complainers ugh.

Huron Shores Area Transit (HSAT) received a $3-million grant from the Government of Ontario through the Ontario Community Transportation Grant Program (CTGP) to support local and intercommunity bus service and to make transit within and between communities a reality. The grant program supports local and intercommunity bus service in areas unserved or underserved by public transit. The program will make it more convenient for Ontarians, including seniors, students, youths, persons with disabilities and others to access essential services in their communities, connect with other transportation services, and travel between cities and towns. To learn more about the CT Pilot Program, you can contact the Ministry of Transportation at: 1-800-268-4686 or 416-235-4686 or email: CTProgram@ontario.ca

HSAT is also supported by its municipal partners, its passengers, and through fares.
